Cologne Bonn Airport - Transport to and from the airport

Train

Cologne airport is just a few minutes far away from the city centre by train and Terminal 1 and Terminal 2 features its own direct connection to the railway station.

There’s an Intercity-Express (ICE 3) high-speed train which arrives at Cologne airport station. The rail station is located across Terminal 1 and Terminal 2. In Terminal 1 is situated in the check-in area (T1-C) and in T2 is located in the basement.

The train station has four track railways which links CGN airport with the line Cologne-Frankfurt, another important city in Germany. Trains depart, at least, once an hour and are served by ICE services.

Lines S13 (S-Bahn) and RE8 (regional train) stop in the airport and continues to Bonn. Line RE6a (regional express) links the CGN airport station through Nessus Main Station and Düsseldorf Central Station.

Bus

There are local buses which operate from the airport to go and come back from Cologne and Bonn.

From Cologne: take the S-Bahn No.7 to Porz Markt, from there with Bus No.161 to the Airport and back. Bus stops are Terminal 1-A Untergeschoss, Terminal 2-D, Busbahnhof, Verwaltung and Luftfrachtzentrum.

From Bonn: take the SB 60, Cologne Bonn Airport - Main Station Bonn - Cologne Bonn Airport. In 2015 a new coach terminal opened and is used for remote bus services to other German cities and many other European countries.

Long distance coaches are also available.

Car

Cologne airport is right next to the motorway A59 which connects with the city centres of Cologne, Bonn and also the Ruhrgebiet and has its own exit: Flughafen. To go to the CGN airport take the Flughafen exit and you arrive directly to the airport’s car parks or in Terminal 1 and 2.

From the car parks it takes only a few minutes walk to both terminals.
